Kael slid herself into the bustle of people with the strange feeling that no time at all had passed. True, when she had been - when this had been her land, say that - she had needed to put a little more work into a disguise.  True, the clothing was stranger now, the faces had a wider variety of shapes, the hair colors and skin colors were more varied. True, the buildings - other than her Tower - were taller, and there seemed to be far more of them than there had been around her Tower before she went to sleep.

But the people bustled around and talked in much the same ways.  They were worried about children, and partners, and money, and food.  What to wear and where to get it, all of the things that had been common a thousand years before.

In some ways, societies are always worried about the same over-arching things, just in different ways and with different mechanisms involved. Being hit by a car isn't a worry when there are no cars, and horses are usually good about not stepping on people unless the person annoys them.

I'm rather curious what Kael thought of the children's section. I suspect it was at least a useful introduction for her.

If potion-making in current times is as rudimentary as the museum presents it, Kael's knowledge will be invaluable.

How did they ever manage to conquer the Hoeraija?

they had kept the old foot-print of the market, and many of the design elements, although the stone had to be far more recently carved – either that, or her potion had stretched out much further than she’d intended

She's used .... translation, cloak of the road, and this gold is good, none of which seem like they should affect a building outside of her tower? Or is she somehow seeing it as tranlated into the conventions of her own time? (She did brew a building potion, but she hasn't used it yet!)

the sounds were something like she might say to a deity
Interesting cultural note, and possibly the first religious reference?

You’re wearing your name tag
And I am *very* curious whether that's cloak of the road, translation, or an actual nametag of some sort that was on the tower-museum-provided clothes. (Checking back, Vibuus had one.)

Kael staring at the section on potions
How complete and accurate *is* their science section? I bet it doesn't cover everything or go into all that much depth, but that sounds much worse than shallow and incomplete.

How did they ever manage to conquer the Hoeraija?
... welp. Who overheard that one?

<waits impatiently for the next segment>

She means the one that put the tower into a sleep.
Ooooh. I am increasingly curious what awake people perceived where the tower was over the centuries. I imagine it's been a "real place" at least since Joaon woke up, but before that ...?

If you're going to have dieties, you probably want to know something about them. Doubly so if they have any relationship to "magic".

Their knowledge of potions is… uh. Definitely not what the Hoija once had.
I expect that will be an ongoing topic for quite a while. :)

More things for the notes list! :)

The modern Hoija more than, say Pfixer? Interesting! Do tell us more... <big eyes>
