I need... a 1000-word story idea that showcases one of my settings. Any setting. Except Unicorns.

I'll think, but in the meantime, is there a reason you want to write a new piece for each setting?

I mean, I don't want to write a new piece for every setting, but I want to write a piece in an extant setting (or a couple) for a new location, and very few of my settings have nice introductory pieces of about the right size.

1000-words is sort of a ballpark enough-to-be-a-story short-enough-to-devour feeling.

Addergoole: a white-hat stalking a specific new student in Hell Night to keep them from getting Kept.

faepoc: a scavenging party (fae or not) finds a recently Changed teenager hiding in the rubble. If one of the scavengers is adult fae it can end with them taking custody of the teenager as their Mentor.

Cali: Something from the pov of a Cali-born slave featuring an American slave is all I can think of

Inner Circle: The servus of an inner circle resident is taken with him/her/them to watch the gladiator fights at the arena.

Reiassan: A sira-worker, whatever the term is, trying to settle back into their civilian job shortly after the war ended. Or, a captured Bitrani prisoner coming to terms with their new Calen...ta? life
