The elevator doors opened into a white room with only one door out of it.  Three people in masks and white suits were waiting to greet her.  The air smelled of antiseptic and some floral-like scent Kelly didn’t recognize.

“Come this way.” The voice - from the central of the three people - was muffled but understandable.  The figure pointed.

Did I miss an installment? "Beepocalypse 2" without a "Beepocalypse", but I'm seeing nothing on DW or Wordpress. I'm also not sure where a missing installment might have fit in the sequence. I'm going to assume that I'm failing to get something. Or was that "beepocalypse" tag always down there, and I'm just blind?

I see "alien invasion" has won the day. And unless something changes quickly, either Kelly didn't get very lucky, or the underground mythology, much like the cake, is a lie. We have no previously mentioned hints of Bee invasion that I can find, other than possibly "industrious" in the list of virtues that get you to the good place.

I'm curious what the rest of the viral mutations are. At a guess, they did the least shocking of them first, to see how she'd react, and give a firm introduction to the idea.

...so does this mean we should welcome our new insect overlords?

Yep, I'm blind! I failed to notice the tag until this installment, and even then only when I went looking for any reference to "beepocalypse".

I'd be hard-pressed to consider un-asked-for viral mutations and subservience to invaders any kind of good place.
