While I'm pretty sure that the knitter here is an actual person, she has no small feel of one of the Norns about her. I like that she's able to work Strands into the wool that she spins, and then keep them in place as she knits.

Tod and Amy were conveniently named for this particular demon's abilities. What happened to Alice or Steve after the demon's word-eating? I particularly like that it was a missing comma that summoned the demon. I expect that once they got all the words back working, this inspired both the Oxford English Dictionary and the Oxford comma...

I suppose Alice was Alis then, or she was just crying in a corner. Steve was kinda SOL.
