“Of course it’s your turn,” the older of the pair coaxed, but the younger man wasn’t quite willing to believe him.  Anastasia put in her two pennies, and the children, theirs, and then in the end, it was Tisha and Candice who decided matters.

“All right, then.”  He smiled at them, an angelic smile, and began his tale.
The Creature Story
Now in my time I’ve done a bit of wandering, looking for  - well, looking for him - and in that time of wandering I’ve seen quite a few things.  Some of them have been strange, some of them stupid, and some of them quite clever. And among the cleverest I’ve seen has to be the solution this small settlement had to a problem with monsters.

I guess someone saw the various zombie treadmill defense ideas and drawings, and decided they could make such a thing. And the kids are mocking the monsters to keep them running.

It's an intriguing solution! I wonder how they managed to bootstrap it, though, given the problems they'd had with previous construction projects.
