Date: 2019-04-03 08:24 pm (UTC)Recycling is complicated with a side of politics and sociology. :} If your university collects paper separately from other recyclables (and if your local recycling patterns haven't been borked by or have recovered from China setting much higher standards on what recycling it's willing to take), paper is pretty recycleable, though usually into lower grade paper and then into chipboard. If your university's doing single-stream recycling, that ... has a better collection rate for recyclables overall, but also tends to collect a lot of non-recyclables and have a lot of cross-contamination, so the net recycling rate is lower and/or lower quality. Paper in single-stream recycling is prone to contamination by glass fragments, among other things.
It's awesome to see anything in my mailbox that isn't a bill, other bits of bureacratic paperwork, or a political flier. Thank you! And I will write back ... eventually. So slow. :}
