poems from the Fishbowl!!
Mar. 2nd, 2011 12:13 pmWow! Yesterday's fishbowl at
ysabetwordsmith's journal was a bit wild! The theme was winged things; these are the poems she got from my prompts:
Earlier aldersprig offered an image prompt. "Dealing With Dragons" is a poem about shapeshifting and inner nature, and how hidden truths are revealed. [This one's from Trix's drawing of Luke!]
23 lines, Buy It Now = $10
I combined [Janet Miles] prompt about "flies to wanton boys" with minor_architect's prompt about winged insects and aldersprig's prompt about why humans don't have wings. "Time Flies" is a poem about how the winged creatures of Earth and the humans fought their way to an alliance, defying gods and time to achieve not just flight, but starflight. It is written in rhymed couplets.
56 lines, Buy It Now = $20
From aldersprig's early prompt "half angel and half demon" I got the poem "Twice-Winged, Half-Souled." It tells about a daeva who does not fit either heaven or hell, and what happens when a false dichotomy is broken.
34 lines, Buy It Now = $15
From an early picture prompt by aldersprig I got "When Life Gives You Dragons," a free-verse poem about dragonmice invading a village, and how the villagers respond. [Charnanigan's dragonmouse!]
34 lines, Buy It Now = $15
minor_architect, aldersprig, and siege all requested flying cars. I thought it would be amusing to base one on the bumblebee. "The Bumblebug" is written in free verse.
15 lines, Buy It Now = $10
She's already posted four others, as well, the freebie and three that were sponsored:
Time for Snow, Dr. Who!! (and faeries)
Free-Running Felines, Kitties! (and parkour)
Pegasus Takes Flight - Origami! (and books)
the jade rabbit Bunny! (and origami)
