Today, it found her knocking on a gate in a gated community, telling the live-in housekeeper “I’m supposed to be here.” Found her looking at the skinny man with the depths of the ocean in his eyes and telling him the same thing.
Found her forced to her knees by a strong hand on each shoulder, the Words to defend herself not coming. “If you belong here,” the man told her, “look it.” The collar was cold, hard. Steel.
