“Two years,” her power made her say. “I am yours for the next two years.”
“So mote it be. Let’s start with this.” He muttered something under his breath and presented Yaminah with a small purple pill. “Swallow this.”
She licked the pill off of his hand and swallowed it. “Why?”
“You’re tense and afraid. Or were, and I don’t fault you that. But this will make things easier.”
“Sedative?”
“Euphoric. Can you feel it?”
A giddy giggle forced its way out of her. “Wow, oh… wow, yes.”
“Follow me. Crawl, for now.”
The floor felt wonderful under her hands.
