Head Coverings:

I *like* head coverings. But I can't imagine the faith of the Callennan as I've been thinking of it having a head-covering modesty thing going on.
On the other hand, the North of Reiassan is *cold*

Your comment at the beginning surprised me because I didn't even think of it being religion-dictated.

Like you said, it gets cold. :P (Also I have been thinking Turkish/Russian influence for clothing in general - accurate-or-not - and they generally have practical bases for headgear, not religious.)

(slightly amused that the two instances of headgear I did are rather consistent with what you envisioned, which pleases me)
