Patterns. She thinks in patterns, she sees things in patterns; she related to the whole world that way. Since I /don't/, it's tricky to remember that.
Man, her purse. I have the hardest time remembering that stupid purse....

S/he has a tail! You'd be surprised how much I forget the tail!
He's not all that bright. S/he's really not all that bright.

Date: 2011-02-06 11:25 pm (UTC)As old as he is, he feels completely outclassed by the three who make up the Administration. He has a quiet voice in the back of his head, wondering when they'll kill him for his presumption.
He's more morally conflicted about this than anyone except maybe Luke; he sees more of what's going on, and yet he knows, knows that it's worth it. He's more involved than any of the other teachers.
He's really, really lonely. It's been a long time since he's had a lover of any sort.

She looks a lot younger than she is. She looks about thirty, and a very well-preserved thirty.

...and yet she does. She's got a lot of teenage girl in there, living the role far more than she ever intended . So it's this weird mix of the privilege of an ancient Daeva and the nerves of a teenaged girl.
Um, I can't come up with a third for her. Except that everything that was affection for Ambrus was artificial; she wanted to eat him, the affection was from his power.

Date: 2011-02-07 12:29 am (UTC)I got more of a sense of the first (her age) in the beginning. It seems the longer she is at the school, the more she looses that.
I've always liked the way she thinks in food terms, though she is doing it a lot less lately. Though reading bits from her viewpoint used to make me hungry.

I still do not know why I am rooting for her. She is manipulative in all the ways I dislike. I really think it's because I was around when she showed up in your head...

The way those two things are evolving. The way she's holding the broken inside her barriers, but so fragile the slightest shake might break it.
