The library is designed for storage and retention/dissemination of information, with aesthetics a secondary consideration. The shelves are cold, smooth aluminum and glass, stretching away into the distance, row after row, stack after stack. The books themselves are the hodgepodge of covers and sizes you get in any good library; students in robes like monks wander the halls.
