Hattip to [livejournal.com profile] stryck, who RT'd this tweet:

I did a little quick googling, and found this article - from USA Today - about micro-apartments.

Like Tiny Homes, I find the concept fascinating (microapartments are a much more efficient use of space/walls, of course, because they can be stacked, but you lose out on window-walls and green space) - though I'm a little amused at myself for this fascination just a couple years after moving into our Biggest Place Ever (I mean, it's about 1700 sq. feet + a garage-barn, but still. The last place came in around 700 square feet).

There's not a lot of point to this blog post, just, hey, thing I find neat is trending.

I can't decide if I'd like to downsize, getting rid of as much stuff as possible (particularly comics and books), or if my dream home would have ALL THE SPACE and lots of bookcases...

The flat I rent now is 495 square feet, which seems to fall in the size of "tiny home" still, when talking about houses. I'm not 100% happy with it, but it makes me wonder if I could be with that size home, if I could do the planning myself (and maybe cheat a bit with a loft) rather than having to work around the charming little kinks of an old, modified building.

...I guess my ideal would somehow involve clever use of space for storage, and uncluttered space in the middle.

I'd like room for a table big enough to invite people for dinner and/or boardgames.

HOW does one invite people? I haven't figured it out...

Some in the US, for me, but the folks in Finland and England would be equivalent to your "other state", probably.
