Partners, a drabble of Yoshi & Dáirine (@inventrix, @cluudle)

Set at the end of Yoshi's second year & Dairine's first year of Addergoole.

"We could be..." Yoshi waved his hands around. "...Partners."

"What's..." Dáirine imitated the hand-waving... "partners?"

"Like my mother and Viddie's dad, or like your father and Ciara."

"Those sound like two completely different things."

Yoshi huffed. "You know what I mean."

She huffed right back at him, unbothered. "No, Yoshi, I don't."

"I mean - partners. People who have each other's backs. People who watch out for each other."

She wrinkled her brow at him. "That doesn't sound like either your mom and - Leo, or my dad and Ciara." The hesitation before Leo was strange, but she talked over it. "That sounds like crew. Which, I might point out, we already are."

"But more than crew. I mean."

"Yoshi, you can say dating. Or fucking. The twins aren't old enough to know either word."

"But this is Addergoole, and those stupid rules mean we both need our second even though we have two." He flopped into his chair, tail askew and ears crooked.

Dai leaned over and tousled his hair. "Honey, this is Addergoole. We can be a couple and still have babies with other people if we want."

Oh Yoshi. XD It's amusing how Cya's sons wound up so wordly in some ways, but oddly naive in others.

Only to make a joke about my "Dr. Whom" persona. My main point was Alder's typo.

This is a good place to make my semi-annual reminder that, while I appreciate typo catches, I prefer them in the context of commentary on the story. :-)

xD Joke appreciated but seriously, you don't need to proofread my comments. I am not concerned. (Though I didn't even notice I missed an l until I read your comment twice xD)

Also I know it is not really my business and I dunno if Lyn minds it, but I know it would bug me a lot to have a public record of missed typos etc. on my fiction; have you considered a different method? Like sending a private DW message with a link or something?

Sorry to have upset you. I keep, and keep to, a "Do not edit" list of people who would rather not have these comments on their webfic.

That is an excellent point. I also sometimes comment with typo catches: Lyn, would you prefer those in a PM or something?

I actually prefer type catches in the comments, because then I can find the post to correct. However (and you are not guilty of this, afaik), I don't like comments that are solely typo catches/edits.
