Today's prompt is from [personal profile] lilfluff: What shows/movies would you like to see rebooted?

Hrrrmmmmmmm~~

Off the top of my head, shows that ended too soon:

Eureka, which was just plain fun 90% of the time and squirrely and weird the rest of the time. I would totally watch another seven or ten seasons of that.

Dollhouse, although it might require a complete reboot, considering how weird things went in the second half of the last season.

Almost Human Almost Human Almost Human. This was such a good show and I want to know all these things about it.

Movies - there's less of these. I tend to watch movies and be done with them, so I can't really tell you any movies I want to see redone. I mean, the last time I went to the movies, all the previews were sequels anyway! Anything I wanna see will probably come around.

I'd like a new Star Trek series. Or a reboot of Enterprise without the time-travelling Nazi aliens. It's been too long since there's been proper Star Trek on TV.

And it's a pity there wasn't a finale for BSG. Maybe they could do something about that.

*looks at list* So *cough* I like Sci-fi, maybe?

They should totally do a new Bab 5 series, too. And then Hercules in Space - I mean Andromeda, but only if they get Keith Hamilton Cobb back.

And then I'd like to see some CSI: Vegas back on tv. Properly, I mean.

I think that's it. :-D :-D

What I'd like to do about B5 is go back in time and undo the damage that the "you won't get 5 seasons, just 4. Oh, no, we changed our mind" did. I'd give a sequel at least a try, but I like the series too much to want a reboot.

First thing I thought of was Galaxy Rangers, an animated space western series I used to watch when I was ickle. I watched it again a year or so ago, and it held up surprisingly well. Ahead of its time, having at least hints at a myth arc before that was common. Unfortunately it was never resolved. I could go with a reboot aimed at the same age bracket as Legend of Korra of that, 's long as it stayed at least somewhat episodic, and adventure focused.

Also Gargoyles. I'd be happy if Disney just put the whole first two seasons out on DVD, and lowered the royalties on comics so that the comics could continue. :(

Isn't CSI: Vegas just regular CSI? *confused*

I can agree with all of those ending too soon, though I don't know how well a reboot would go over for all of them.. And add Firefly to the list. As well as Space: Above and Beyond. Maybe Last Resort. Tower Prep. Jericho. Harsh Realm. Drive. Lie to Me perhaps. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Alphas. Dead Like Me. I know alot of people disagree but I could have watched a ton more House episodes.

For animated shows: Sonic Sat AM definitely. The new Thundercats. TRON: Uprising definitely. W.I.T.C.H. Gargoyles. Young Justice. Pretty much anything Greg Weisman worked on really. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Pirates of Dark Water. Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars.

I don't really watch that much tv. Maybe six hours a week. In fact I haven't turned on my tv in about four months now. I've been addicted to reading first Worm and then a large number of Worm fanfics (if you ever got around to reading Worm and would like some fanfic recs just say the word). The list I gave was watched over a period of two and a half decades, never more then two a year. Though they're only the ones I feel were cut too short. Regarding the new Thundercats, I wanted to like it more then I did. It was a pretty good example of a reboot of an 80's cartoon done right so I thought it deserved a spot on the list.

Pirates of Dark Water - 1991
Bucky O'Hare - 1991
Sonic Sat AM - 1993
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs - 1993
Gargoyles - 1994-1996
Space: Above and Beyond - 1995-1996
Harsh Realm - 1999
Firefly - 2002
Dead Like Me - 2003-2004
House - 2004-2012
Witch - 2004-2005
Drive - 2007
Jericho - 2007-2008
Terminator - 2008-2009
Lie to Me - 2009-2011
Tower Prep - 2010
Young Justice - 2010-2013
Thundercats - 2011
Alphas - 2011-2012
Tron - 2012
Last Resort - 2012
