Thinking about creating a new bingo community - feedback requested

Because of a variety of systemic problems I've had with kink_bingo over the years, most of which I really feel are "it's not them, it's me," I've been thinking about creating my own sexytimes and kinkytimes type of bingo community.

If you would have an interest in participating:

* What sort of prompts would you like to see? Specific prompts? Categories?
* What sort of prompts do no Definitely Not Want?

* How about achievements?

* And, as a community, are there things you're rather see/not see?

As an example, if I create a bingo community, it will not be "fanfic with orgfic tacked on;" I'll try to make the language & rules include both original fic & fanfic (It's a small thing, but it frustrates me endlessly).

So what about you?

Also, what should I callll it?

I think the bingo cards should be customizable to a degree—every requester should be able to name an unlimited number of situations that squick or trigger them, and those situations should not show up on cards they request. Which is my way of answering the DNW question without turning it into a list of my personal squicks and triggers.

I would like to see a comm rule about it being mandatory that the stories for the comm are consensual on the part of all characters, but I suspect enough people to disagree that I don't expect to see that comm rule.

Re. consensual: I am a big fan of writing dubcon and noncon, so a community run by me would not be a place for that rule, I think.

I wonder how much effort eliminating trigger/squick categories actually is? Every com I see has a limit... I suppose it depends on the generator used.

I recall one community where you request which category/ies you want used for your card. I think that would work well here! Inclusive requests, not exclusive.

My category suggestions would be nothing new to you but I have some general system suggestions!

Group card prompts by category, have cards say which categories showed up, and require comm members to tag their stories by category as well as rating. That way people can easily avoid squicks.

Please make a rule that all characters written must be fictional.

I think a "don't be an adshole" rule and a "we are all adults here; act like it" rule would be good.

No real people: I agree. RPF tweaks me out, especially in kink.

And yes. I like the "be adults/don't be a jerk" rules.

Even if the rainbow achievement didn't sort of bug me, it always seemed like cheating. "Well, I made Addergoole, so picking 5 people of color to write about is easy." Not like trying to find people of color in TV shows/movies.

The first two categories are pretty standard and I don't have a problem with them, although the 2nd category requires mod attention.

The Fandom ones are a BIT problematic for orig fic, as it's actually not much of a challenge for me to write 5 piece in 5 'verse.

But the Underrepresented Identities in Kink stuff is where I started getting uncomfortable.

Hmmm. I do like the idea of that last category idea but if you did something similar I think you would want to write it in a way that precluded fetishizing the characteristic.

So I actually read over that whole achievements thing and the "underrepresented" thing is literally just "let us reward you for writing about characters most people don't think are sexy" so yeah that's not useful.

I like the squares being story elements, as opposed to true prompts. There are thousands of places to get prompts, and having a pool of prompts that are both specifically kink friendly and ordered/adjusted for the sake of allowing for exclusions for individuals' specific squicks/triggers/KoS.

(Also, having full prompts, to my mind, make for an overly filled card that wouldn't be as attractive or functional)

What I would like, to make something different, is to have alternative styles of Kinkgoing - I think back to my church's bingo when I was but a young Warthog. Everyone gets a number of the slider bingo cards (with little plastic covers to mark each square you get). I think it would be interesting if we had our individual cards, filled with subjects (wholly kinky and otherwise possibly) and then each week/month/period there would be different things.

One week/month/timeperiod it could be, say, "Standard Rules!(five-in-a-row bingo, no 4-corners): Write One story for each of the squares in your winning row that are linked together. Maximum 250 words per story." Another could be "Four Corners!: Write a single story that incorporates all four corners of your bingo card!" Yet another could be, "Standard Rules!: Write one story for each of the squares in your winning row but do not make the stories kinky!" Things could abound; Play a friend's card, write a specific universe, write a universe but don't like the stories; the options are limitless.
