But this is similar to my 6-hour-bus-ride-to-NYC kit, or the waiting-in-line-forever kit (I pack small, portable knitting as well) - generally, any time when situations beyond your control might mean you're waiting for just shy of forever. It's well worth a read.

Date: 2015-02-18 12:59 am (UTC)Hubby thinks I'm being overly ambitious when I grab the bag for a trip literally four blocks down to fast food, plus four blocks back, but I tend to laugh and announce how many rows or stitches I got done in that little five-minute trip.
Frankly, I'm grateful that my worst "danger" is boredom, not the snow, but the principle was ingrained DEEPLY when I was a kid and it serves me well today.
