This takes place Christmas Vacation, Year Nine.
"This is awfully public." Amadeus was squirming. Ciara tried not to laugh at him.
"It's a mall, Amadeus, the point of it is to be public."
"What if someone sees us?" He was wriggling in earnest now, somehow not dislodging the loose knot tying his wrists behind his back.
"You said you wanted a kiss, didn't you?"
"I said I wanted you to kiss me. Not... like this!"
"Well, this is how I want to kiss you." She set her hands on his shoulders. "If you're quiet, the sales clerk might not notice we're here."
"Key..." He, reluctantly, fell quiet.
