"Honey, I'm home." Yngvi took off his hat and coat and hung them on the coatrack.

"Welcome home, darling. Dinner's almost ready." Kees planted a firm kiss on Vi's cheek. For the occasion, he was dressed in a frilly apron and pearl necklace over his slacks and t-shirt. He handed Yngvi a martini. "How was your day at the office?"

"Exhausting." Vi took a seat in the leather armchair they'd bought for this, and put his feet up on the ottoman Kees brought him "Thanks, doll, you're a dear."

He pulled Kees in for a kiss before they started laughing.

Yngvi and Sigurd are characters in Addergoole (Sigurd only shows up, so far, in the Halloween story Tricked, as an 8-year-old.

Yngvi looked over his son – his only son, and likely to remain that way, and also, although he tried not to think about it too much, his nephew – and tried not to curl his lip.

They’d done a very good job of keeping in touch, up to a point. And then school had happened, the way it did, and the sweet teenaged boy he’d known had, like so many before and after him, vanished.
